Amanprit's story - Profoundly deaf since birth, relying on
hearing aids and lip-reading for all communication, until the age
of 21. This short documentary gives an insight into cochlear
implants from the recipients' viewpoint. This video is part of our
work with the hampshire deaf association (hda) to help raise
awareness of cochlear implants in young adults aged between 16 and
24 years old.
Amanprit Johal was last years Graeme Clark Scholarship Award
winner. The video is the first in a series of DVDs for use in
schools and colleges has been sponsored and produced by bdc
interactive for hda in conjunction with the Cochlear Advocacy
Programme.
